In honor of Black History Month, here are a few interesting facts that many people may not know.
Both Betty Boop and the Lone Ranger were inspired by African-Americans. The real Betty Boop was inspired by jazz singer Esther Jones. The Lone Ranger is believed to be based on Bass Reeves. Reeves was born a slave, but escaped during the Civil War and eventually because a U.S. Marshal.
